Welcome to the Battle of Oconee web site. This year is the third annual Battle of Oconee where re-enactors come from all over the Southeast to portray a battle from the Civil War.

The Re-enactors set up camp, just as it was done in the 1860’s, dress, cook and live like our forefathers did. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, there will be a battle re-enactment to demonstrate what it might have been like in days gone by.

In 2009, over 1,200 spectators came to view this event and we are expecting more Re-Enactors and participants this year.

It is a great opportunity to see what life was like for the soldier and to demonstrate living history to children.
